“We hired Bitar Construction to build a 40’ x 40’ shop and a 20’ x 24’ Picnic Shelter/Cabana.  Fortunately, Bitar Construction was recommended to us when the previous contractor backed out of our project, prior to starting construction, due to staffing losses and COVID 19.

Owen’s company, Bitar Construction, demonstrated the values that we wished all contractors strived to attain, but more often fail to accomplish. Owen is a perfectionist.  He is a fanatic about building square, plumb, straight and level.  For example, I know of no one that attaches a series of hand winches to pull support poles and framing into alignment and square within 1/8” tolerance.  Who does that?  I watched him remove an installed metal roof ridge cap, because looking at the building from up the hill, the cap didn’t look straight enough.  He reinstalled the ridge cap perfectly straight.  This attention to detail resulted in high quality in both of our buildings.

Owen and his employees were always courteous in all my dealings with them.  Owen let me know whenever his employees would be on my property, and without exception, they showed up when the said they would.  One day when snow shut down roads, they showed up and worked a full day.  If his crew planned to show up earlier than usual in the morning, Owen would call me the evening before and ask permission. They kept the work site clean and in orderly condition.

Owen knew and worked well with the County Inspectors and Subcontractors.  If the Subcontractors work wasn’t up to my standards, it wasn’t up to Owen’s standards and he had already spoken to the Subcontractor to fix it, before I had a chance mention it.  When the cement flooring contractor wasn’t showing up, he found another cement contractor that did a quality job.  This wasn’t an easy feat in the middle of COVID, which caused challenges in obtaining material, employees, inspections, subcontractors, etc.  Owen overcame these challenges to successfully complete our project.

Without reservation we recommend Bitar Construction.  Owen was honest, followed and met all contractual obligations and produced 2 quality-built building that we love.
